The process of simplifying my wardrobe continues apace. So far I’m rather happy with the result. I have a core wardrobe with items that not only compliment me but one another.
One area that still requires a little development is that of my ties. Many moons ago I wrote a piece on how you could achieve [...]

If you are bored with your black business suit, then put some shock into it - wear it with a big, bright red or hot pint bag!
In my mind, the patch pocket is much under appreciated in men's tailoring . We are so used to the standard besom pockets that we think of it as the norm. To define the two, a besom pocket is one that is ‘et-in' to a coat, as seen on most suits and a patch pocket is directly applied to the outside of a coat. The patch pocket adds a wonderful air of casualness to an outfit, which can be useful to tone down the formality of a suit or a sports coat. On a sport coat, it [...]

My first silk tie was an old navy and burgundy printed polka dot tie that my father used to wear. He had revolutionised his tie wardrobe as his neckwear aesthetic had altered and I was the lucky recipient of his cast offs. I was very young at the time, only accustomed to the indescribably nasty [...]
Well what can be said for our Guru of the motor car and the speed freak, usually known for his open neck shirts and laid back casual look - he is the epitome of Mr Casual. He does however brush up rather well when required! here's not much to say about his style other then it is relaxed and casual which suits Jeremy totally.
Famed for his larger than life personality, the team at A Suit That Fits were delighted to be asked to tailor Made in Chelsea's Ollie Locke a Union Jack suit. Charming Ollie wanted something a little bit different, and so A Suit That Fits tailored him a full three piece red, blue and white number . s well as the stand-out fabric, the suit had true bespoke attributes, including the covered buttons and the wide, hand-stitched peaked lapel. The jacket has one-button at the front [...]

Last weekend, we joined the boys from Bonhams at The Goodwood Revival . The festival celebrates automotives of the 40's, 50's and 60's and to get into the spirit of the event, visitiors are also expected to dress the part. The Revival allows visitors to revisit the golden era of motor sport; when the cars were fast and the suits were sharp. Held at the Goodwood Motor Circuit (the only race track in the world to maintain it's original form) much effort goes into recreating the right environme [...]

Note – the following is a Google Knol I wrote a while back; while a decent introduction, I feel it can be improved upon and welcome any comments to help me in that endeavor. Introduction to the Men’s Suit The men’s business suit is the most universally appropriate item in a gentleman’s wardrobe. There are [...]
The Question – How important is my interview suit. I have multiple meetings, can I wear the same outfit to every meeting? Answer – The devil is in the details, and when you are looking to land a 6 figure job, you better believe they notice these things. With two weeks between interviews, and the [...]
Today when we are invited to black tie events it is hard to imagine that this simple smart jacket that we are encouraged to don has its lineage way back in the frock coat of the 1700s. Now that, is withstanding fashion!
In England this time of year is Party Conference season. As a newly enlisted member of the lobbying fraternity, for me this means attending all three big conferences -12 days in three different cities in under a month with meetings from early morning to late at night.
Few things are quite as undignified as travel, and [...]
What better way to celebrate our return from France last week, than with lunch at Babington House, Somerset, with Mr & Mrs Jack Wills...and what better setting for the maiden voyage of my new double breasted blazer (DB)?!Having had my first double breasted jacket made last year - a navy cashmere/wool HAB-5, herringbone bought as a suit as it’ more cost effective to buy a jacket with trousers, don’ you know - I’e developed a penchant for wearing the jacket as [...]

We've given our City Road studio a fresh and sophisticated new look and it's definitely worth a trip to the City to check it out! It was a case of out with the old and in with the new this week at number 16 City Road. The refurbishment was a huge success and follows the revamp of our West End studio earlier in the year. We went for a sophisticated but no non-sense style that reflects both our serious and fun sides with splashes of colour and imagery in vintage styled frames to co [...]
The lounge suit as we know it is inextricably linked with formality and conventionalism. When we think suit , we think business friendly- a suit in a dark material paired with a light shirt, tie and invariably black shoes.A suit can be worn successfully in a casual manner however. The key to distinguishing it from something you would wear to work is all in the fabric choice. It is important to choose something with texture that moves away from the fine wools one would loo [...]
A funny thing occurs when I tell people I used to play rugby for my house: absolutely nobody believes me. Scoffs are heard as far off as Trafalgar Square when I recount stories of scrum-half school heroics; expletives of disbelief are muttered into pints of ale. But as “slight” a frame as I have and [...]<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/MensFlair/~4/g0_VnJhoqpY" height="1" width="1"/
A film version of the Classic TV drama of 1979 . he story based on the book by John Le Carre is set in the Europe in the 1960s and at the height of the 'Cold War' between the West and Russia (know as the USSR).Brooding and foreboding it is, fast paced it is not, tightly controlled camera angles and a casual flippancy about death rarely seen today. The tone and style really reflect the age, the breaking down of class society and the liberalization of British society as a whole, a [...]

I’m continuing to dither over the choice of my next bespoke suit. I’d thought I’d settled on either a casual weekend check; a modern box cut suit in cotton or cord; and, finally, a grey or navy chalk stripe.
These choices, as you may remember, were causing me an ample sufficiency of headaches, in terms of [...]

A while ago, I wrote about the Italian dandy and style aficionado, Lapo Elkann. This week I wanted to write about someone a little closer to home, our very own Prince Michael of Kent. As the only bearded member of the royal family, this man doesn't stop at facial hair to exert his own unique personality and style.Wearing a suit is second nature to this gentleman. He carries off the double breasted pinstripe number below with ease. The colours in both the shirt and tie are matched well [...]
The MTV Video Music awards or VMAs has been MTV's way of awarding those exceptional videos that have been produced by directors and stars of music since 1984. he annual ceremony has in recent years become more notorious for the crazy on stage antics of the artists rather than the awards MTV are presenting!
