We’re off to outer space. We’re leaving Mother Earth. To save the human race. Our Star Blazers. Remember that show? we sure do, it was one of our fav cartoons growing up. Now after years of waiting its finally coming to the big screen, but only in Japan – and no this isn’t the Disney [...]
We’re relatively new fans of Iain M. Banks and his awesome Culture series (previously we’ve reviewed Consider Phlebas, , Use of Weapons, and Look to Windward). Plainly put, The Player of Games is one of the best of the bunch, second only to Consider Phlebas. This is such an extraordinary story, a clash of civilization, yes [...]
We’ve been a fan of Dynamite Entertainment’s Buck Roger revival since the very first issue….actually no we weren’t. But the series did grow on us and we have looked forward to each new issue to see which way the plot would go. The last issue we reviewed — #11 - Buck takes on the man [...]
Surprisingly SUPERMAN/BATMAN ANNUAL #4 is a very good comic. We get a glimpse of a future Metropolis and Superman, that we rarely see…one that has been beaten by both time and Luthor. Luthor is the mayor-for-life of Metropolis and he’s feeding the people of the city with trace amounts of kyrptonite so Kal-El can barely [...]
We love Serenity/Firefly here as much as anyone — and sure Wash has always been one of our favs too. Which is why we thought that Serentiy Float Out – mostly sucked. Previous Dark Horse Serenity comics have been awesome – but not this one. Context is lacking from the very beginning so we don’t [...]

Neuromancer” William Gibson kicks all sorts of ass . Previously , movies based on his short stories or books have left a lot to be desired Johnny Mnemonic” William Gibson is probably my favorite writer so I’m ridiculously excited to hear that someone is giving Neuromancer” a decent shot . Neuromancer” is about a dude named Case that gets
Incursion Part 2 the Season 1 cliffhanger for Stargate Universe was a DUMB episode wasn’t it? Why didn’t Young storm the gateroom? WTF? Why would he surrender control? so Rush could MAYBE get it back? Just seems dumb. And TJ dead? What’s up with that? Most likely she’s lost the baby – but hopefully she’ll [...]
Amy’s Choice was yet another solid episode in an unbroken stream of brilliant episodes so far with Matt Smith as the new Doctor. What’s real and what’s not? Obviously the Tardis had to be real right? How could the future – with Amy preggers living in a quiet town – be real? The bad guy [...]
And what a force! Let the Leia in your life channel her dark side in these brilliant looking “Star Wars” Storm Trooper and She-Vader leather corsets. You will gladly comply with her every order when she pops into one of these babies. Priced reasonably at 500 for the Trooper getup and 600 for the Vader-ness outfit, I’m sure your Light Saber will get fully activated. Buy them now at Evening Arwen. Thanks Io9 for the word.
Kind of, sort of, based on the King novella The Colorado Kid is the SyFy show Haven, about a FBI agent sent to a small Maine town to investigate a murder but instead finds a much weirder story waiting to be discovered. It premieres July 9th and is filmed about a half hour away from me in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. I’ll be watching. Thanks Scifiwire.
Home Got Scoop Reviews Doctor Who Stargate : Universe Babes TV Recappers Wanted Contact Us RSS Feed Seth Green Smooths Out Some Details On His Upcoming Star Wars Comedy By endymi0n : Published June 8, 2010 Posted in : Sci-Fi TV News Sci-Fi Videos Star Wars Universe We’ve been hearing about Seth Green’s Robot Chicken Star Wars comedy in bits and pieces . On the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards , Seth his own self provided a little more . illumination It’s in the early production stages and will be animated , which is a good thing if you have watched the hilarious Robot Chicken Star Wars stuff . Here’s Seth with more from his quick . interview It’s just so early . When there’s good stuff to tell , I’ll tell you , 8221 he said . I don’t want to say anything . People are really dramatically
WOW. KRIFFING WOW. So much action and plot in this issue, it’s nearly impossible to think of anything to say other than.. WOW. Cade is one serious Sith hunting machine now – he is the ultimate sith/jedi hybrid and we doubt there is any force in the universe that can stop him now. The princess [...]
We didn’t care all that much for Star Wars Invasion when it first came out. So now Dark Horse has come back with this series – renumbering it to #1 – should be #5…but it’s actually… KINDA GOOD. We’ve got some kick but females in command of a Vong cruiser causing havok. We’ve got a [...]
Gotta hand it to the BBC – they’ve got a real winner with Matt Smith and the new Doctor Who. They’re now taking the great new Doctor and the lovely Ms. Pond to the next level though with a series of free downloadable adventure games. The first one looks like great fun too.. Filed under: [...]
Jean-Luc Picard, Prof X – or just plain Patrick Stewart, the man is a living legend and now he’s been Knighted by the Queen of the England. Congrats Sir Patrick! How many other great SciFi actors have been knighted? Well we know of Sir Alec Guiness (Ben Kenobi) of course…but beyond that the list gets [...]
Massively Multiplayer online games are great — if you’ve got money to burn. That’s why Sony’s announcement this week of the new Clone Wars Adventures MMO amazed us – basic online gaming capabilities will be …wait for it…FREE. yESS there are paid upgrades — but the basic gaming capabilities – the stuff that will suffice [...]
That’s it. The New Krypton saga is now over. War of the Supermen #4 marks the end of a saga that in our opinion — is one of the greatest Superman story arcs of all time. It began with Kandor coming out of the bottle and ending up as a city on Earth – then [...]
The Series Finale of FlashForward was one amazing show. The FlashForward’s that began the series – mostly – came true didn’t they? The show -mostly- came full circle. And the biggest surprise is that the show ends on another blackout – with another set of FlashForwards. The whole thing with Mark Benford fighting like a [...]
Firefly has been off the air and movie screens for years, but the fans keep asking for more. A new book that just came out yesterday Firefly: Still Flying: A Celebration of Joss Whedon’s Acclaimed TV Series <– cheaper at Amazon than anywhere else we’ve seen) give us some new insights into the show from [...]
Star Wars Crosscurrent by Paul Kemp – the short review is that this is an awesome book. We get multiple timelines 5,000 years ago with Jedi and Exar Kun era Sith, colliding with the post Darth Caedus era. We also get the first mention of Darth Krayt outside of the Star Wars Legacy comics that [...]
FOX killed Firefly before it’s time …that’s a well known fact. The Serenity movie was ok, but we want more, so we go some decent comics, but we still want more. So the fans have stepped in and there is a fan flick currently under production that really has got our attention. NO this isn’t [...]
With Stargate Universe being a very different type of show than typical Stargates – it’s great to have an episode like –Subversion that brings us right back into the world of SG-1 and the genesis of this series. The whole leutian alliance thing – seems so far away – cause it is after all 18 [...]
“You have to come back because you belong with me,” Olivia Dunham. Wow – the good Olivia finally admits her feelings for Peter — and then she gets trapped on the wrong side. What’s an amazing twist. Also amazing to see dr. bell and Walter together – and the final revelation that it was Walter [...]
Red Sky is a turning point episode for the new version of V. Chad Decker finally sees the truth, Anna finally pulls the trigger on Earth and we get the line we’ve been waiting for since the show began. V isn’t for visitor. V is for VICTORY! (remember that from the original series?) So what [...]
Stargate Universe -Pain – started off in a way that made us second guess if we were watching the right channel. Lt. James (that’s her breasts on the left) semi-naked rolling around with Lt. Scott. If we wanted to watch porn, we wouldn’t watch Syfy. But hey that’s Lt. James role in this show. She’s [...]
This week’s episode of FlashForward had a cool flash back with Gabriel (Dr. Baltar from Battlestar Galactica) – watching retro cartoon: Roger Ramjet – Hero of Our Nation That sure was a blast from the past wasn’t it? It’s been a VERY long time since we’ve seen or heard Roger Ramjet anywhere – so I [...]
Really?? NO WAAAAY. This comic book is all about one thing – the destruction of New Krypton. No we didn’t see this coming. After two years of following the New Krypton saga, we’ve grown fond of the place. New Krypton/Kandor has been part of the Superman universe for what 40 years or more at this [...]
We like Buck Rogers — it just keeps on getting weirder as we learn more about Buck’s future Earth. Some weird moon robots/colony have now destroyed the Han — good riddance – but now it’s time for the United Orgs to go to the moon. It’s just one thing after another in this comic, with [...]
Make not mistake about it — the Sith of Star Wars Legacy show no mercy and no compassion to anyone. Just look at what they do to Dac in this issue. We didn’t like this issue — large parts of the story don’t make sense. For example, how did the GA jump into the system [...]
Yeaah we’re a little late to this party. But we finally got around to watching the The Eleventh Hour - the premiere of Matt Smith as Doctor Who. What an amazing episode, what a fantastic Doctor Who! Humor and strength with some amazing charisma, Matt Smith is astounding. The segment where the anzati see all [...]
