In an effort to measure the size of the universe, researchers are using the Jaguar supercomputer at ORNL to simulate the explosions of white dwarf star supernova. The physics of supernova explosions is something astrophysicists have been trying to figure out for about 50 years now,” said Stan Woosley, principal investigator of an Innovative and Novel Computational Impact on Theory and Experiment (INCITE) project and professor of astrophysics at the University of California–Santa Cruz. “It is an...
As we've reported, the diminutive $25 Linux computer dubbed Raspberry Pi is attracting developers and tinkerers, and we've also noted that it could succeed where projects like One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) ran into roadblocks--in the educational market. In fact, the tiny devices (see the motherboard shown here) have already drawn interest from educational system and technology industry leaders. Now, in a very promising step for the Raspberry Pi movement, Google Chairman Eric Schmidt has pledged to give U.K. schools Raspberry Pis and pledged to train 100 teachers in how to pass Linux skills onto students. "Rebooting computer science education is not straightforward," Schmidt said at an event in London, according to the BBC.

Let's see, on one hand we are always awaiting for someone to donate and the pieces of software that we produce and consume are state of the art but not valued, of course scientific work is always the same, the scientist gets an award and someone else gets the money, but on the other hand, videogames are not exactly scientific or for work or community collaboration efforts, they are amusement and we have both free and non free, you can either go for a walk in the forest or go to a theme park. The implications are the same. :D - Ernesto Augusto Schettino Benitez

What I want out of Jack or something similar is to be able to direct sound to specific speaker sets. System notice sounds out to one set, audio output to another set, and movies to a third set.
I never use surround sound, but I want to listen to music in the bedroom, movies in the living room, etc.
Jack is incapable of that. Perhaps pulse-audio can, but it needs a good setup program.
There are needs for other creation tools that are usually thousand of dollars, such as electronic cad, routing, and parts list programs. All of what is out there, expensive or cheap, are on Windows. Likewise, I have a cheap Windows Cad program (DeltaCad) that makes 2d drawings easily. It's too easy to use to spend a couple of months learning to use the Linux 2d Cad's.

Is there a specific location for where I can find all the changes (updates, bug fixes and overall UI/GUI changes) between each Daily Build?
if so, please post / direct me to the correct place. I understand that there might be several places, but I would prefer an official place hosted and maintained by Ubuntu/ Canonical / Linux.xom / launchpad etc.
Thanks in advance. - martin nilsson
