There was something eerily familiar about the suddenness which with Cervelo Test Team’s and Garmin-Transitions’ fortunes changed just before the Vuelta. The sneak attack, the telegraphic language in the press releases, and the valiant counter-strike—like something from a half-remembered dream in my Internet Youth.

Paul Smith, Cycling Plus tech guru and ace photographer, knew exactly what he wanted to get his new wife as a wedding present – a retro bike. He couldn’t find an off-the-shelf model, though, so he made one…

I confess to being a bit of a hardtail purist, not for any overly zealous reason I should add – I like thrashing the tyres off a good full suspension bike as much as any.
But it’s just that for many riders who’ve been mountain biking for more than 15 years, it [...]
Oh yes. This is totally the direction I want to see the sport going in. Take the sponsor who’s pleased enough with a gutsy third-place finish to put the bike in their museum, then dissolve their team. Follow that up by reintroducing the guy who was caught in a police sting at an illicit blood [...]
Since returning from our jaunt over to Ireland (read more in issue 254) my Transition Covert long-termer has had me scratching my head a bit.
What started off as a soggy feeling rear end quickly turned into a big white hobby horse. The Covert was using up seemingly all of it’s travel on even the short [...]
This weekend Rubens Barrichello will be driving his 300th Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. So, what do you give a millionaire Brazilian F1 star who (probably) has everything to celebrate such a landmark? An electric bike of course!
Now, for dedicated roadies it’s easy to be a little sniffy about electric bikes. Why on earth [...]

So I don’t know whether you noticed but it rained at the weekend. Not exactly the end of the world, but a bit of a downer for the guys behind Dorset’s Big Bike Bash.
No matter. We fired up the Wrecking Crew Vito Sport anyway and headed down sarf for some fun and games, and a [...]
Cool London bike shop and builders Condor Cycles are reinforcing their presence in the stylish retro-leaning market by reintroducing their Paris brand in the UK. Here’s a sneaky peak of the kind of fancy lugged detailing you can expect on the bike when it is launched at this year’s bike show in Earls Court. We’re [...]
Well, the Twitterverse seems to like this, so I'll slap it here, too. The World's Greatest Bike Lock.Or a practical joke. Both are cool.Copenhagenize the planet. And have a lovely day.

You set yourself up on the bicycle , have a good look around first up and down and then from side to side wherefter you rest for a moment whilst regarding the road ahead and behind . Do this several times and take your time doing it . Therefter you push down on one pedal and up with the other . The bicycle is then propelled into motion . You can , of course , repeat this process , but experienced cyclists rarely need . to You will now
Looking for a spot on the Aussie worlds team? I would say your best bet is to avoid winning a stage at the ENECO Tour. Robbie McEwen—wins stage one, not invited. Jack Bobridge—wins Stage 5, not invited. Granted, McEwen’s been having the worst season of his long career with just one other win, and [...]

I’m wondering who’s more surprised about Ricco’s move to Vacansoleil—fans, journalists, or the rider himself. Ricco seemed pretty sure about going to Quick.Step only a few short days ago, but as press agents anywhere can tell you, the great advantage to leaking information rather than making an above-board announcement is plausible deniability.
That said, the not-so-recently-returned [...]

Do my eyes deceive me? Is there a piece critical of Lance Armstrong up on Versus.com? If it weren’t comparing him to Mel Gibson (hard to imagine the phone calls curiously absent from Armstrong’s emails with Floyd and Dr. Kay were anywhere near that bad) or erroneously claiming that Armstrong smashed Floyd’s (or Armstrong’s own [...]

The number one thing mentioned by Americans racing in Europe isn’t the higher level of competition, or the bigger crowds, or the greater exposure, but the races themselves.
